Overview
Welcome to your first step into the world of Nurse Manager! This workshop will provide you with the essential components of contemporary management through an enhanced understanding of management, communication, and business knowledge. Participants will correlate these components to actual practice with the help of case studies and real-world examples. Armed with these foundational skills you will take your learning to another level, leave this workshop empowered and equipped with a leadership development roadmap.

Exuberant, abundant, and focused on thoughtful delivery of educational content, Ashley A. Kellish is a dedicated academic and clinical practitioner dedicated to the future of nurses in healthcare. Her experience has allowed her to provide mentorship to over 20 DNP and MSN candidates through University North Carolina Medical School of Chapel Hill, NC. She is a sought-after consultant with a propensity for implementing change and improving healthcare systems.
In addition to being a consultant, Kellish has an abundance of academic and nursing administration experience as a Faculty Development Educator for Boston Children’s Hospital, Nurse Manager at UNC Healthcare: NC Children’s Hospital; Adjunct Faculty at Georgetown University Graduate School of Nursing; Instructor at Simmons College; Clinical Assistant Professor at UNC Chapel Hill School of Nursing and now serves as the Director of the Center of Nursing Excellence at UNC Medical Center. She has formally presented and led workshops throughout the United States and globally on continuing education and shifting protocols.
She earned her DNP from Duke University, an MSN from Georgetown University, where she was awarded Performance Improvement Nurse of the Year and a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Boston College in Chestnut Hill, MA. She is a board certified Critical Care Clinical Nurse Specialist. In addition, Kellish was honored by UNC in 2022 as a member of the third cohort of Anne Belcher Interprofessional Faculty Scholars. She also holds many certifications and has authored publications on nursing, systems and practices.
