Overview

Safe nurse staffing is a long-standing complex issue affecting both patients and nurses. Patient needs and the care environment change continually requiring flexible nurse-driven solutions to staffing. Given the variability in settings of care or situations, there is not a one-size-fits-all solution to staffing. ANA’s revised Principle’s for Nurse Staffing (3rd edition) serves as a high-level overview of the principles to inform a deeper dive into the elements needed for appropriate staffing. Attend this webinar to hear how to use the revised principles in day-to-day nursing practice and as a guide to inform nurse-driven solutions to attain appropriate nurse staffing.

Key Learning Outcomes

  1. Identify factors that impact the link between appropriate nurse staffing and better patient outcomes
  2. Identify appropriate evaluation data for determining staffing levels and skill mix
