Magnet Application and Appraisal Fees

2026 Magnet® Application & Appraisal Fee Update

All Magnet® applications submitted on or after February 1, 2026, will be subject to the 2026 Magnet Application & Appraisal Fee Schedule. Click here to view the 2026 fee schedule.

Change in Submission Date Fee

The updated submission date fee applies to all Magnet applications, including:

  • Applications currently in progress prior to February 1, 2026, and 
  • Applications submitted on or after February 1, 2026. 

These updates ensure the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) can continue advancing the highest standards of nursing excellence. Through participation in the Magnet Recognition Program®, organizations contribute to the advancement of nursing excellence—supporting ongoing work that strengthens the nursing profession and healthcare worldwide.

2026 Magnet Application & Appraisal Fee Structure:

  • Online Application Fee – $7,000.00 (non-refundable or transferable)
  • Appraisal Review Fees (Fees apply to all health care organizations.)
    • Appraisal Fee
      • Based on licensed bed size (see chart below)
      • Due at time of written document submission
    • Annual Payment (year 1, 2, and 3 post-designation year)*
      • Based on licensed bed size (see chart below) Note: certain bed size categories have been restructured.
      • Due every year on designation month
  • Change in Document Submission Fee – $8,500.00 (non-refundable or transferable)
    • Note: A Change in Document Submission (extension) is for one time only and the new date for submission must be within 6 months of the previously scheduled date (for Magnet-designated organizations) and up to one year for new applicants.

International Tax Notice: International organizations may be required by applicable law to pay or withhold taxes from any payment to ANCC. International organizations are responsible for paying the full fees to ANCC exclusive of any non-US taxes or withholdings. International organizations are responsible for any required withholdings or taxes owed in addition to payment of the full fees to ANCC. ANCC may require international organizations to provide proof of such tax payment or withholding to the applicable tax authorities.
All fees are in USD, subject to change, and are non-refundable or transferable.

Change in Document Submission Fee

The date selected (on the application form) by the applicant organization for documentation submission is confirmed once the application is processed by the Magnet Program Office. The date selected is significant and is considered a reservation for your documentation submission. Specific coordination of scheduled conference calls and communication centers around this date. The date is also used by the Magnet Program Office to assure timely communication about the application phase and to prepare the organization for documentation submission, including selection of the appraisal team. If at a later time the organization decides to change the documentation submission date (e.g., by either requesting an earlier document submission date or requesting an extension), a fee of $8,500.00 will be assessed.

The new submission date can only be selected from the established submission dates indicated on the website: February, April, June, August, or October; first day of the month, unless it falls on a weekend or holiday, then the next available business day applies. The Change in Submission Date requests must be submitted no later than two months prior to the current scheduled documentation submission date. The Change in Submission Date request is one-time only.

For redesignating organizations:

  • If requesting to change submission date to an earlier cycle, the new date for submission must be within six (6) months of the previously scheduled date
  • A request for an extension can be up to six (6) months from the previously scheduled date

For initial applicants:

  • If requesting to change submission date to an earlier cycle, the new date for submission must be within six (6) months of the previously scheduled date
  • A request for an extension can be up to one year from the previously scheduled date.

System Fees

Notice: Fees only apply to Magnet-recognized system designations. Please contact your Magnet Analyst for more information for your specific organization.

System Application Fees

  • 1-3 hospitals: $7,000
  • 4-6 hospitals: $12,100
  • 7-9 hospitals: $17,100
  • 10+ hospitals: $22,000

System Site Visit Fees

All travel, hotel, and per diem expenses for each Magnet appraiser are covered by the applicant
